Mohammad Mehdi Goorangi is an acclaimed Iranian composer, music educator, and musicologist who began his artistic journey in childhood and pursued academic studies in music.
From 1995 to 2009, he collaborated with the Music Department of IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) as a composer, arranger, instrumentalist, and recording supervisor.
He has composed music for over 150 films and television series, with some of his most well-known works including the popular TV series A Traveler from India, For the Last Time, Help Me, Time Traveler, and the films The Loser, Rush Hour, The Summoned, among others.
In 2018, Goorangi received his Ph.D. in musicology from Georgia. He is currently teaching at the university level.
His professional and academic accomplishments include:
– Founding and chairing the Music Department at Soroush University
– Membership in the Iranian Music House’s Association of Researchers and Composers
– Membership in the Iranian Film Composers Association
– Founding and managing the MIS Music Department at the MehreTaban International School
– Serving as a jury member of the Iran Cinema Celebration
– Executive Director of the “Saal Navaye Mousighi Iran” Ceremony
– Director of the music section at the International Art for Peace Festival
– Director of the Colors of Compassion International Arts Festival
– Jury member for the regional and ethnic music section of the first Mehr Festival
Among his most acclaimed works is the album A Truth Like an Imagination, which showcases a fusion of classical, orchestral, and cinematic creativity.
